Juneteenth Cinema Block Party
“Bringing communities together through creativity, innovation, and immersive event planning expertise.”
As a lead partner under 6IX 8IGHT, in collaboration with Kabila Events and the Philadelphia Film Society (PFS), I spearheaded the transformation of a typical PFS Movies on the Block gathering into an unforgettable celebration of Juneteenth.
The event, held on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at The Lawn in Philadelphia, boasted a joy-filled atmosphere, complete with food trucks, a mobile bar, vendors, games, and the screening of the iconic film "DRUMLINE." This innovative collaboration drew in a total of 742 patrons, with a demographic breakdown revealing a majority of attendees falling within the 21-30 age range, reflecting the event's appeal to a youthful and diverse audience.

"Transforming events into unforgettable experiences, one vibrant collaboration at a time."
Our strategic partnerships and sponsorships played a pivotal role in the event's success. Tito's Vodka generously sponsored the event, while the Enterprise Center facilitated vendor participation, enhancing the event's offerings. Additional support from organizations like Over In West, Hip City Veg, and The Eco Foundation, who donated to the raffle and hosted engaging activities such as Black movie trivia and various games, added layers of excitement and community involvement.
The inclusion of performers like the West Powelton Steppers and the Sixers Stixers, coupled with vendors such as Black At You Tour and Usrah Catering, enriched the event experience and contributed to its vibrant atmosphere. Moreover, Silent Philly's provision of headphones for patrons to enjoy music during the film enhanced the multisensory experience, showcasing our commitment to innovation and attendee satisfaction. Overall, this event stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and creative event planning in bringing communities together to celebrate cultural heritage and create lasting memories.
